Nowadays, it is possible to find those that are hexagonal, circular and even shapes that are zigzag. The pool tables also come in differing colours of the cloth that are used to cover the surface area. Under normal circumstances, the colour is green but you could discover other colours like blue and red. No matter the shape and size of the table, the table rails are all cushioned and raised. This is done to prevent the rails from rolling off thereby helping them to bounce back.

Billiards pool table also come in forms which either have pockets or not. Those that have pockets are very much used to play pocket billiards and they possess six pockets. There is one that is on every corner and there are two that are facing each other on the sides of the table. The ones in the middle are called side pockets while those in the corner are known as corner pockets. Those that do not have pockets are used to play the game called Carom and are normally played with three balls.

Billiards pool table is mostly made from plastic or leather materials. When the balls get to enter the pockets they are collected in either plastic or leather nets and are then led into a collection section inside the table. The game called Carom however has a table made from clay which is heated above the normal room temperature making it faster when playing.
